Tim Reimers is a principal and leader in national law firm Polsinelli’s real estate and public finance practices. He has extensive experience assisting health care systems, airports, ports, utility districts, cities, counties, schools, high-speed rail and other groups acquire, manage and develop their real estate assets, raise capital and finance projects. In addition to this role, Reimers participates in the National Association of Bond Lawyers, the Airports Council International – North America, and the American Bar Association’s State and Local Government Law Section Public Finance Committee. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California – Riverside and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut. Reimers is also a graduate of SCLN’s 2005 Leadership L.A. fellowship.
Javier C. Angulo

Javier Angulo is responsible for Walmart’s regional and state business growth strategy, legislative and policy affairs, stakeholder outreach and organizational partnerships in California, New Mexico, Nevada and Hawaii. He is a member of the Walmart Foundation’s State Giving Council which is responsible for distribution of foundation resources to high-impact non-profit organizations.
Javier has over ten years of experience working in the nonprofit and political sectors. He began his career in Washington, D.C. as a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Fellow and served as a constituent liaison for the Senate Democratic Steering and Coordination Committee. He returned to California to join the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) where he served as Director of Development. He then joined the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) to direct their national civic engagement programs.
Prior to joining Walmart, Javier served as a senior associate for Progressive Strategy Partners where he managed political and educational campaigns for local and statewide candidates, ballot initiatives, and public and non-governmental organizations.
Javier is currently Chairman of the LA Plaza de Cultura Y Artes in Los Angeles, board secretary of the Los Angeles Business Federation, and executive board member of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the US Conference of Mayors Business Council. Other board memberships include: American Red Cross of Los Angeles, Hawaii and New Mexico Retail Associations, Central City Association of Los Angeles, Homeboy Industries, Southern California Leadership Network, Valley Industrial and Commerce Association (VICA) and the Valley Economic Alliance. Javier also co-founded HONOR PAC, a political action committee dedicated to electing Latino LGBT candidates. He served as a mayoral appointee to the Los Angeles Neighborhood Council Review Commission and the Los Angeles East Area Planning Commission where he served as President.
Javier earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California Santa Barbara and resides in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles with his partner Ryan and his two doggies Canela and Kobi.

Dave Barthmuss is an independent public relations practitioner known for designing strategic communications programs that improves image and reputation, builds brands, engages influential stakeholders, and delivers a company’s or organization’s messages in a variety of settings. Dave possesses a keen ability to build the kinds of engaging bridges that have turned the most determined of detractors into proactive third-party advocates, a subtle art he calls “Advotocracy,” the act of leading through advocacy, and the name of his independent public relations practice.
Prior to starting Advotocracy, Dave led all General Motors’ public relations activities in Los Angeles and the west, and a diverse team of PR specialists through some of the most turbulent times in the automotive industry’s history. Dave also served as a key storyteller for the company conducting numerous interviews and participating in several public speaking events related to consumer engagement, alternative fuels, communication best practices and other business topics. His work has earned several industry awards, including being recognized by the Public Relations Society of America as its PR Professional of the Year in Los Angeles. He was also named Volunteer of the Year by the Los Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce for his continued contributions to the Southern California Leadership Network, for which he serves as its 2017 Board Chair.
Dave earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Political Science from Michigan State University. When not on the road or advocating for clients, you’ll find him spending time with his family, enjoying concerts and music festivals (he’s a reformed Deadhead), and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Michael Huynh is an Account Director in Local Public Affairs at Southern California Edison (SCE), where he is responsible for developing and managing strategies that engage various stakeholders and audiences on the company’s key initiatives.
Huynh has over a dozen years of experience in successfully leading stakeholder engagement and communications strategies and campaigns in areas such as energy, land use, and transportation throughout California. Prior to SCE, he was at Consensus Inc., where he managed strategic communication, public outreach, and coalition development campaigns for corporate and government clients. Huynh earned an M.A. in European Politics from the College of Europe in Belgium and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine. He is a graduate of SCLN’s Leadership L.A. fellowship and the Riordan Leadership Institute.
